From Fermenting To Finance

And family! Life hacks I wish I knew sooner that might just help you.

A park with different habitats as a “space for all species.”

The trails are easy to navigate, and doable with an all terrain stroller! You can tailor your route as long or short as you’re feeling that day with little risk of getting lost, and there’s a clean bathroom even when the center is closed.

This trail is a perfect fit for trail running newbies who just want to dip their toe. It’s a smaller and well-traveled park that feels safe for running solo.

If you decide to bring the family, be sure to check out the magical children’s garden called the Highfield Discovery Garden.

Location:

Just north of Wyoming city and Hamilton County in the Woodlawn Village, a suburb of Cincinnati.

There’s one main parking lot adjacent to the visitor center. The trails start from the visitor center gazebo.

Map directions:

10397 Springfield Pike, Woodlawn, OH 45215

Distance:

3 to 6 miles (or less if you’d like!)

The Wetlands Loop doesn’t begin until after you’ve walked a ways on the Garden Loop trail. If you begin running from the visitors center and add in the extra “lollipop trail,” it’s a 3 mile run. Do extra wetland loops to add about an extra mile at a time.

Park details:

$3 to enter, or pay $10 for an annual Great Parks pass that’s good for a plethora of Cincy parks.

Paved and gravel trails.

The park is extremely dog friendly!

Check out the Great Parks website for more info, videos and images, especially of the children’s garden.

After the run recommendations:

Wyoming Community Coffee is a cute place to stop on an idyllic neighborhood road.

Most photos were taken in December, so you can only imagine how pretty the views are in other seasons! While most of my photos are of open spaces, much of the trail is traditional wooded area.
