Before opening you next card, you’ll want to check how many credit cards you’ve opened in the last two years.

That’s because credit card companies won’t approve credit for anyone who have opened more than 5 credit cards in the last 24 months.

This is referred to as the 5/24 rule.

Check Credit Card Opening History

Check your credit from www.annualcreditreport.com.

Add up all new cards in the past 24 months including cards that have been closed.
